Every role and person you hire are crucial to business success so you're fully aware that it's crucial to hire the right candidate. Despite the usual indicators of skills and experience, there are other areas that HR’s and Leaders should consider in their hunt for ‘The One’ here are 4 signs that may indicate that you have found the best talent...

Here at Optamor we pride ourselves on being: Transparently Honest, Simply Understood, Energetically Driven, Daringly Different and Fanatically Fun. If during the interview process a candidate demonstrates the ability to fit these values then there will be evident signs of butterflies in our stomach!

OK, so there’s a fine line between needy, clingy and desperate and ambitious, persistent and tenacious. BUT paired with the right skills and values then showing signs of persistence and tenacity could have your heart skipping a beat, especially if you’re looking for top talent with a go-getting attitude who’ll need minimal handholding. Just make sure that the team you’re going to put them into will be a good fit for this personality type.

Even the most obviously suited to the jobs can ask the usual humdrum end of interview questions. If your candidate is engaged in the conversation with you, asking questions during the whole process then you’ll know that as an employee they’re likely to always contribute new ideas and engage with the business.

Does the candidate live a 2-hour train journey away? Whilst a lot of business will discount candidates who’ll have to commute further than an hour or so into work, we think that the willingness to travel is the sign of a candidate with the drive to go the extra mile for their career. If the candidate is a complete 10 out of 10 then you could always offer remote working for a portion of their working week to make the commute a bit easier.

Do your current candidates not meet the above criteria? Request a free Digital Talent Attraction Audit to help you attract top talent online.
